ZAU TOYSETS AND THREE DIMENSIONALITY
The Zau toysets are three dimensionally operating wooden toysets. Our innovation partner, MH-Invention developed already on 1970 decade for Palicca and its parts a new coupling system. At that phase we found the basic mathematical code for three dimensional constructions. It is based on 30 x 30 x 45 mm basic brick. Its possibilities are multiplied when a triangle brick is added. Palicca has 92 right angle versions. In addition to this come 60 and 75 degree versions which CNC-technology and triangular bricks make possible. By this way we'll get at least 200 different but compatible elements. All the Zau toy construction sets follow this same schema. All the sides of the basic brick can be joint together. Two bricks can be set at least in 16 different positions as to each others. Three bricks have 83, four bricks about 250, five brick about 630 and six bricks about 1 300 variations! It looks that the serie follows a formula in which the amount of variations is the amount of bricks in fourth potency. This means that 20 brick have about 160 000 variations. The child's imagination can work when the system is easy to use and the construction is easy for variations. This is sensible way of building for a child. The three dimensionality means that there are lots of elements. 500 pc element box is a very good start for a child. A three dimensional building is a natural way to realize the need of building something. A child usually loves wood and simple forms. The product shall also be safety and enjoyable to handle.
